Apr 24 - Apr 25    Opening Soon
Grand Canyon Revegetation Program  -  Native Vegetation Restoration  -  South Rim Grand Canyon National Park
Please join us on the South Rim to help assist Vegetation Program staff in the 2009-2010 Visitor Center and Mather Point Revegetation Project. All work will be conducted around scenic Mather Point with breathtaking views of Bright Angel Creek and Zoroaster Temple.
We will be restoring native vegetation in areas impacted by construction and road realignment. Vegetation Program staff will present an orientation to Grand Canyon National Park and its native vegetation communities while you are here. Come for a weekend at the South Rim and contribute to the health and beauty of the stunning Grand Canyon by protecting and preserving this invaluable natural resource for future generations.

Camping will be provided at Mather Campground for 3 nights between Friday, April 23rd and Sunday, April 25th. Average temperatures on the South Rim in April are cool with highs in the 60s and lows in the 30s. Come prepared for chilly weather as winter conditions are possible on the South Rim until May. There may be a very limited amount of camping gear including tents and sleeping bags available from the park. If you need gear please call ahead to confirm availability.
