Grand Canyon Revegetation Program  -  Native Vegetation Restoration  -  South Rim Grand Canyon National Park
Please join us on the South Rim to help assist Vegetation Program staff in the 2009-2010 Visitor Center and Mather Point Revegetation Project. All work will be conducted around scenic Mather Point with breathtaking views of Bright Angel Creek and Zoroaster Temple.
Inspiring generations of artists, explorers, and tourists for over a century, Grand Canyon National Park is one of America 's greatest landscapes. During your visit to the South Rim you will be assisting Vegetation Program staff on myriad projects including the restoration of construction areas, the removal of non-native plants, and the maintenance of our native plant nursery.

We will work from 8:00am - 4:00pm with an hour for lunch every day.

Over the course of your visit here Vegetation Program staff will introduce you to the natural history of the park through a series of informal talks. We look forward to having you out at the park to assist our staff to help protect this fabulous resource.

Camping will be provided at Mather Campground for 4 nights between Thursday, July 8th and Sunday, July 11th.

Average temperatures on the South Rim in July can be toasty with highs around 84 and lows around 54.

There may be a very limited amount of camping gear including tents and sleeping bags available from the park. If you need gear please call ahead to confirm availability.
